2022 Spring Command Team

Command Team

CDT Pinewski

Senior Ryan Pinewski from Nowthen, Minnesota. He is a Global Business Leadership Major, branching this spring as an active-duty Infantry Officer. In his spare time Ryan enjoys working out, spending time with friends, hunting, and fishing.

Ryan is currently the FSB’s CDT Battalion Commander. He is responsible for all battalion activities, creating the climate and culture within the battalion, and supervises and provides guidance for the battalion staff during planning.

So far, Ryan has completed the Cold Weather Operations Course at Fort McCoy, and most recently attended Airborne School at Fort Benning prior to completing Advanced Camp. While Airborne was very intimidating, it was an extremely fun and memorable experience that provided beneficial training.

CDT Schmidt

Senior CDT Rilee Schmidt hailing from Owatonna, MN. She is an Integrative Sciences Pre-Med Major, branching active duty Medical Services and hoping to pursue a career as doctor in orthopedics or family medicine. In her spare time, Rilee enjoys golf, CrossFit (especially leg days) spending time with friends and family outdoors, and playing Cataan.


Rilee serves as this semester’s CDT Command Sergeant Major. Her duties include enforcing uniform and discipline standards within the ranks as well as looking out for the overall wellness of all cadets!

CDT Selb

Senior, Jake Selb from Andover, MN. He is a Political Science Major branching this spring as an active-duty Quartermaster Officer. Outside of ROTC, Jake enjoys Running, Working out, and Hiking.

Jake is the battalion’s Operations Sergeant Major.  He is responsible for driving staff Operations through the synchronization of all elements of the staff, eliminates points of friction at training events, and assists the CSM with Cadet of the Month Selection. 

This summer, Jake completed Advanced Camp, after which he graduated Air Assault School at West Point which provided him with training on Sling Load and Air Assault Operations.

CDT Palmquist

Senior David Palmquist from Bloomington, Minnesota. He is a history major, branching this spring into the MN National Guard as an Engineer Officer. In his personal time he enjoys powerlifting, hunting and fishing.

David is currently the FSB’s CDT Executive Officer. He is responsible for managing the staff and day-to-day operations of the battalion.

This past summer, David completed Air Assault School at the WTC in Fort Benning, GA prior to completing Advanced Camp.
